School Academic Performance

Hicks High School continues to strive for excellence as evidenced by its educational growth. The School Performance Scores (SPS) have increased each of the last thirteen years from 76.2 in 1999 to 121.9in 2012. In the 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2010, and 2011 terms our school was recognized by the Louisiana Department of Education as a "School of Exemplary Academic Growth" and consequently in 2001 & 2004 recieved monetary awards of $6800.00 and $4400.00, respectively. In 2005 we recieved $5000, and the amount for 2006 was $10,073.00.  H.H.S. was recognized for academic growth in 2012 as a Top Gains School.

Exciting news!!!!  Hicks High School's English II class of 2012 scored TOP in Vernon Parish!  Way to go students and Mrs. Wilbanks. Thanks for continuing the tradition of EXCELLENCE at H.H.S.!  Our high school EOC scores for 2011-2012 are #2 in Vernon Parish!  We are so very proud of our students.  Talk about Pirate Pride...we have it going on!  Hicks High School also ranks in the top 5% of schools in the state of Louisiana for academic performance and growth.  Certainly our students,faculty, staff, and community has established a tradition of EXCELLENCE.

Did you know that Hicks High School ranks 2nd in Vernon Parish in the percentage of students performing at or above grade level?  Hooray!  However, we are not satisfied with this. We are striving for excellence and plan to rank 1st.
