Our Mission

The mission of the faculty and staff of Hicks High School is to provide an educational program through which every child can achieve his or her maximum potential by offering a variety of learning experiences so that the child of today can be a successful adult of tomorrow. Our guiding principles are based on PIRATE P.R.I.D.E.: preparation of life-long learners, recognition of efforts and achievements, involvement of parents and community, development of responsible citizenship and basic skills toward EXCELLENCE in education.  We will continue the heritage of excellence in education.

Vision

We envision an ever increasing demand for educated, capable, career ready graduates who can successfully enter college, technical school, or the work force.  Hicks High School will continue to be recognized as a school of academic excellence whose students are prepared for their future.

 Goal

Hicks High School's current school performance score for 2012 is 121.9.  Our goal is to increase our school performance score to 125 during the 2012-2013 school year.

Congratulations H.H.S. students, parents, faculty and staff!  Our school performance scores are at an all time high!  Look out Vernon Parish, we plan to soar to the top!  We are satisfied with nothing less than EXCELLENCE.

Special "CONGRATULATIONS" to Mrs. Johnson and our Algebra I and Geometry students.  Their scores on the 2011 EOC tests were 2nd in Vernon Parish.  And "KUDOS" to Mrs. Wilbanks and the English II students - their scores on the 2011 GEE Language Arts test were 2nd in Vernon Parish. However, 2012 English II EOC scores are # 1 in Vernon Parish! Biology EOC scores for 2012 are #2 in Vernon Parish! And Hicks High School's overal EOC index score is #2 in Vernon Parish!!!   Way to go, Hicks High School students and teachers!  WE  are proud of your hard work!  Just another day at H.H.S. continuing a tradition of EXCELLENCE!
