Question #1:  What is the average classroom size at SHS?

The average classroom size at SHS is 20 students.

73% of classrooms have 1-20 students.

18% of classrooms have 21-26 students.

9% of classrooms have 27-33 students.

Question #2:  What services does SHS provide to meet children's needs?

SHS provides personal, career, and academic counseling.  SHS has ACT and SAT prep services, gifted education and special education services, individualized education planning, and test remediation.  Workshops are provided in test anxiety and in stress management.  SHS has peer tutoring/work buddy programs, after school tutoring, and summer school.  SHS also provides occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy.  We have hearing impaired assistance and drivers education.  We also have courses offered through the Louisiana Virtual School.

Question #3:  How do I enroll my child in Simpson High School?

Enrollment must be done through the SHS front office between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  The following items are needed:

--School records from previous school (grades/transcripts)

--Louisiana Health Card:  Shot record with updated immunizations (must be signed by authorized medical provider)

--Identification:  A copy of the student's social security card.

--Proof of Age:  A copy of student's birth certificate.

--Proof of Residence:  A utility bill or housing paperwork.
